Therapy for
Depression
I have a sister who is four years older than me, her name is
Sharon.
Sharon has suffered with depression for the last ten years;
at times she even finds it difficult to get out of bed in the
mornings.
I will not go into all of the ins and outs as to why she is
so down and depressed but she has had it quite tough. I have
for a long time however believed that she does seem to worry
and stress about things which are just not worth worrying
about. Sharon is what I call a stress head!
In a similar way as to how John managed to see the light,
Sharon had a horrific experience in 2007 which was to help her
to come out of this sustained period of depression.
She was on a flight from Dalaman (Turkey) to
Birmingham(England). Shortly after take off, the passengers
realised that there was a major problem with the plane.
They could smell burning and the plane, despite being at the
correct altitude, was making strange loud noises. The real give
away however was the fact that the stewardesses were crying
their eyes out.
The plane then, without warning, suddenly dipped. The
descent was so severe and dramatic that my sister thought that
it was sure to hit the ground and that her life was about to
end. Fortunately the pilot was able to regain some form of
control of the plane.
The pilot then announced that one of the engines was on fire
and that he would TRY and get them to Istanbul airport.
My sister has of course survived this ordeal and eventually
arrived back in the UK a whole new different person.
This has been the best therapy for depression that she could
have had.
She has stated that there is now going to be no time in her
life for feeling down and that she had promised God that she
would stop stressing if she was able to live for another day.
She is determined not to let him down.
In the examples of John and my sister, the same message
rings out.
Life is too short to waste on being stressed and depressed,
it could end tomorrow, therefore let’s make the most of each
and every day.
