How to eradicate
depression
Would you say that you are a depressed person?
Are you interested in finding out about ways to help
eradicate your depression?
Are you constantly stressed and depressed? If you have
answered yes to one or more of these questions then this
article may well be worth a read.
In the article I am going to be writing about the ways in
which I have successfully managed to eradicate my own
depression.
The reasons why I was depressed
There were numerous reasons why I was depressed. Looking
back the main reason was due to the fact that I had a speech
impediment.
At the age of four I developed a stutter and this had a
hugely negative impact on my life for the next eighteen
years.
I would feel like I was one of the most unfortunate people
in the world and would become depressed especially when the
speech therapists were trying to convince me that there was not
a cure for stuttering.
I am happy to report that I have now overcome this speech
impediment.
I was also over-weight; this was due to comfort eating
during the periods when I was depressed. Sounds quite crazy
really, I was partly depressed due to being obese and would
then eat to make me feel better, not exactly clever is it?
I also have a bald patch on my scalp and am only five foot
five in height.
Overall I used to often feel very sorry for myself. At the
age of twenty-two I realised that I had to get out of this rut
that I was in.
I thought about each of the above four issues and decided to
accept that I could not change my height or the fact that I had
a bald patch; I would have to live with these issues for the
rest of my life.
I decided to have a new approach to them both by basically
thinking who cares? Worst things happen at sea and all
that.
I knew that if I worked very hard, showed a determination
and discipline that I could attain a weight that I was happy
with.
I was also confident that I could also overcome the stutter;
these were both issues that I did not have to accept and that I
could change.
For the next twelve months I did work very hard and
eventually managed to achieve fluency and I did reach my target
weight.
I now think in a far more positive way and am rarely down or
depressed.
The future is looking bright, free from the fear of
stuttering and depression.
